The South Carolina Silver Society was established in 1996 in the mid-state, and is one of three national silver societies. The other groups are in New York, upon which the SCSS is patterned, and Washington, DC. Membership to the Society is open to all and the group consists of silver collectors, scholars, curators, dealers and appraisers, as well as enthusiasts of silver who don’t consider themselves collectors.
The SCSS welcomes service projects related to silver, offering a breadth of knowledge and expertise. Silver scholars are also invited to submit papers for panel review for publication.
